It’s been a hectic couple of months with various gigs up and down the country. Huge thanks to folks that came out to see and hear the first few outings for the Wild Horses Tour in Maghull, Morecambe, Alnwick and West Aukland. And to the hardy souls who danced in the rain at Coventry Motofest, I salute you.
It was a grand event where we opened the Saturday Night main stage for Brian Houston and Nell Brydon. I shared the bill once before with Brian at the Greenbelt festival where we were both involved in a memorial concert for the late Larry Norman. Brian is an awesome songwriter and performer – go check him out if you haven’t already. http://www.brianhouston.com
Then Nell hit the stage with Ali on keys and Brian’s drummer Pete Comfort filling in after Nell’s drummer was stranded in Belgium. Nell wrote a song called Sirens after 9-11 and was sweet enough to sing it and dedicate it to my Dad. It really was a fantastic night.
Upcoming shows before the summer include the Cabin Lane Centre in Oswestry where I’ll be joined by a choir on a few songs, and at the end of July I’ll be at the Warwick Folk Festival before heading up to Scargill House for week two of Summerfest. Then its a break until the autumn and the Wild Horses Tour starts in earnest. the diary is filling up but if you’d like a show in your area then do let us know.
