Had a great time back at Warwick Folk Festival this year with two gigs and a spot in the Sunday morning festival service (read more here).
On Friday night I was playing in the Living Traditions venue which I really like. It’s a small unplugged gig, pretty intimate and close up with the audience which suits me. There were three acts before me and I stuck around for all of them and twice I heard the song “Row On, Row On”. It’s a beautiful song with some conflicting stories of it’s origin, but whatever, it’s full of hope and was a bit of medicine to me this weekend.
I recorded my version this morning – rather different from the way I heard the Exmouth Shanty Men sing it – they were excellent by the way!
